Malaucène

Malaucène is the second major route to the Mont Ventoux, via the same D974 which winds from Bédoin through the forest, across the top of the Ventoux to Malaucène.

The village is encapsulated between the D938 and the D13. Along the D938 you will find the most movement, especially at the market square where you will find most hotels and eateries. The local market, which takes place on wednesday is one of the oldest in Provence.

Nearby this market also the access road to Mont Ventoux. Malaucène lies at about 350 meters above sea level, slightly higher than Bédoin.

Malaucène is located between the two major cities: Carpentras and Vaison-la-Tomaine. Especially the latter is worth a visit.
